HARTLEPOOL United secured a late point at home to ten-man Shrewsbry in a game they should have had sewn up by half-time.
Graeme Lee levelled on 89 minutes to rescue Pool, but they should not have needed his late header to avoid defeat.
Gordon Watson put Pool in front in the first half when he volleyed home his tenth game of the season and when the visitors had Darren Moss red carded minutes later for a second foul on Paul Smith, Pool were in total command.
Visiting keeper Ian Dunbavin produced a stunning one handed save to deny Watson and Pool were camped in the opponents half.
But the visitors kept two men up front and their persistence paid off.
First Mark Murray tapped in to level before lively Luke Rodgers raced away and fired low past Williams to put the vsitors in front.
