TEN students from the Born To Dance group in Darlington have been awarded scholarships by the British Theatre Dance Association.
The girls had to take part in a day of lectures and interviews in Sunderland as part of the application process.
Seven pupils have also been successful in examinations.
Hayley Rossington and Victoria Ormerod gained honours for Advanced I Acro; Gemma Lyne was highly commended in the Intermediate Tap examinations; Sarah Park, Heather Heyburn and Lauren Moody were gained commendations in the Intermediate Tap examinations; and Carla Stainthorp achieved a pass plus.
Sue Henderson, principal and dance teacher, said: " I would like to offer my congratulations to them all. I am very proud of them."
