A PENSIONER died in an accident on an unclassified road near Bedale.
Una Corner, 62, from Burrill, was driving a red Daihatsu Applause when the accident happened at 12.30pm on the road between Bedale and Newton-le-Willows, at the Crakehall and Burrill crossroads.
The other car involved in the accident, a blue Citroen Saxo, was being driven by 19-year-old William Waterson, from Leyburn.
Mrs Corner was pronounced dead at the scene and Mr Waterson was taken to the Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton, suffering from cuts, bruises and shock.
