THANK you little sister! Matthew Algie is pictured with two-year-old Rebecca, who saved his life.
As reported in The Northern Echo on Saturday, the seven-year-old was diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of three and underwent years of unsuccessful chemotherapy.
Now, after a bone marrow transplant from Rebecca, he is back at school and well on the road to recovery - much to the joy of parents Jeff and Janet Algie, of Wellspring Close, Acklam, Middlesbrough.
Mr Algie said last night: "He has to go another five years before we know he is in the clear. It is still distressing and will be for another few years, but we are now in a far better position than we were.
