FIREFIGHTERS had to cut free a driver after a collision on the A688 road between Bishop Auckland and Middlestone Moor, Spennymoor.
Hydraulic equipment was used to free the woman from her Vauxhall Corsa car, after which she was taken by ambulance to Darlington Memorial Hospital. She is believed to have suffered a broken hip.
A man driving a Ford Puma suffered minor injuries in the accident, which occurred at 8.45am yesterday, at Binchester Lane.
