THE £4m revamp of Scarborough's police headquarters, in Northway, is due for completion by the end of the summer, North Yorkshire Police Authority has said.
The redevelopment of the station includes building an extension, an extra storey, and providing a custody suite for 17 prisoners, administration block, shower rooms, conference and training facilities.
In addition, the exterior of the 35-year-old building is being given a new look with a replacement fascia.
The decision to upgrade the existing complex was taken after attempts to find a suitable site for a new station fell through.
