VILLAGERS are to be given a rare chance to see a production of Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore in the coming weeks.

Lanchester and District Choral and Operatic Society will perform the show in the school hall of St Bede's Comprehensive School, on Wednesday, February 6, to Saturday, February 9. Performances begin at 7.15pm.

Ruddigore is a tale of simple country folk influenced by their local gentry, who have been cursed to live a life of wickedness or face excruciating deaths.

The show is produced by David Hughes and the principals are Sharon Murray, Richard and Margaret Woods, David Fiddaman, Harry and Moira Watson, Paul Davison and Peter Bridgewater.
