A MAN who stabbed his girlfriend to death while she lay in bed was jailed for life today.
Former Northern Echo electrician Anthony Keith Hilton, 31, of Sparrow Hall Drive, Darlington, admitted killing his fiancee Nicola Gina Impett, 27, between August 15 and 18 last year at Teesside Crown Court.
Hilton, 31, pleaded guilty to a charge of murder.
The court heard he had stabbed Nicola, a client referrals worker at Orange, to death at her parents' home in Winchester Way, Darlington, while high on drugs.
Judge Peter Fox QC said Hilton had a violent streak and had killed a vulnerable young woman, who died a "shocking and fearful" death.
