A FAMILY of Newcastle United supporters have appealed for the return of their signed Magpies shirt after it was stolen earlier this month.
Bryan Hailes' nine-year-old daughter, Rebecca, won the autographed shirt in a raffle and, in a festive act of goodwill, gave it to her brother, 14-year-old Gary, as a Christmas gift.
But, some time between New Year's Eve and January 4, the shirt was stolen from their home in Kemble Green East, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.
Mr Hailes said: "It's something you can't buy. It had all the names on." But he fears the top will never be seen again.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on (01325) 314401.
