THERE are only 17 days left to nominate young people for awards to recognise their achievements.
The Positive Young People Awards 2002 will mark the good things Darlington's youngsters do in the community and their efforts to battle against personal circumstances.
At an awards ceremony at Darlington Civic Theatre, on March 25, six winners will receive cash prizes to be donated to charities of their choice.
Nominations must be received by January 31 to be considered for the awards, which are being run by youth group PS2K, with The Northern Echo, the Darlington Partnership and Darlington Borough Council's community education department.
Awards will be presented to an under-12 winner and an under-18 winner in three categories: contribution to the community, outstanding achievement and against all odds. Nominees must be under 18 on the day of the event and must have given their time voluntarily.
Send forms to: James Gilbey, PS2K, Community Education, Darlington Borough Council, Town Hall, Feethams, Darlington , DL1 5QT.
Tickets for the ceremony, costing £2.50, are available from the Civic Theatre box office on (01325) 486555. Details of the awards are available on (01325) 388831.
