A RENOVATION scheme is currently under way at a university chapel.
This term, students at Durham University's Cranmer Hall and St John's Hall, which make up St John's College, are using Hatfield College Chapel, as work is undertaken at St John's own chapel, St Mary-the-Less.
Rooms in St John's College are also available for the large number of weekly services and events.
The renovations at St Mary's follow last year's Consistory Court, which gave the go-ahead for a new level floor and the introduction of flexible seating and worship space.
Warden Dr Steven Croft said: "Being both a university college to post-graduates and undergraduates, as well as a theological college, means that we have extensive use of the chapel, which is great.
"We are looking forward to the completion of the development."
The £230,000 scheme will give St John's one of the most up-to-date and flexible worship spaces in Durham City
