A CHARITY which helps people with a wide range of problems is seeking volunteers.
First Stop Darlington is an independent charity offering help to anyone who is unsure of where to start looking for information or assistance.
It provides access to directories of national and local help groups, information on accommodation, and support for people with relationship, drugs or finance problems.
Julie Ashcroft, spokeswoman for the charity, said: "It is our job to signpost to the very wide array of organisations and services set up to help people in Darlington.
"We also have practical services, such as shower and washing facilities for rough sleepers."
The charity, run by volunteers, opened in July 1999 and has already helped more than 1,800 people.
Anyone interested in volunteering can call the charity on (01325) 254463
