A building industry award has gone to a student of New College, Durham, for the second year in a row.
Gavin Nicholson, of Sherburn Village, won the Roy Irving Award given by the Chartered Institute of Builders.
Last year, Andrew Henderson, of Spennymoor, won the award.
Mr Nicholson, who works for a Leeds firm and completed his HND in building studies, won the award for being the highest-achieving student on a building course, in the region.
Over the past five years, he has also achieved an advanced GNVQ and HNC in building studies.
Course tutor Michael Henderson said: "All the construction teaching staff at the college are delighted that Gavin has won this award .
"It is recognition of his truly outstanding commitment and hard work.
"We wish him the very best for the future.
