Sedgefield Borough Council is seeking an independent member to sit on its standards committee.
The successful applicant will be required to promote and maintain high standards of conduct by members, advise the council on the adoption or revision of the members' code of conduct, and help, advise and train councillors on matters relating to the code.
Other duties will include monitoring the operation of the code of conduct.
The responsibilities will also extend to parish council members in the Sedgefield borough.
Applications are invited from people who have an interest in local government and live in, or have a local connection with the borough.
