A MAN accused of hitting his friend on the head with the handle of a gun was cleared by jury at Teesside Crown Court yesterday.
David Mossman, 20, of Grants Crescent, Seaham, County Durham, denied unlawfully wounding Jonathan Everest, on March 18, last year. It was alleged Mr Mossman struck Mr Everest over the head with the handle of an air pistol after accusing his friend of making a pass at his girlfriend.
Mr Mossman said Mr Everest had fallen over and struck his head on the edge of a desk.
