The railway signalbox at East Boldon, South Tyneside, has been dismantled because it is no longer needed.
Redevelopment of the Newcastle to Sunderland line to accommodate the extension of the Tyneside Metro system to Sunderland has made it surplus to requirements.
The level crossing at East Boldon's station will now be operated automatically from Gateshead
