HARTLEPOOL United put on a five-star show to sink Rushden and Diamonds at Victoria Park.
Pool triumphed 5-1 - with new recruit James Coppinger scoring the last goal and starring in their biggest win of the season.
Gordon Watson opened the scoring with his 11th of the season, turning in from close range. But Pool had to wait until the hour mark for their second.
Ritchie Humphreys nodded in a Paul Smith cross for his second Pool goal and minutes later Watson made it three, latching onto Coppinger's through ball.
Tommy Widdrington tapped in number four before Coppinger - a loan signing from Newcastle - stole the show with a spectacular fifth, volleying in in style from close range. Rushden's consoltion came in injujry time through Duffy.
