What's hot...

SEXY UNDIES: Underwear is no longer something practical that you wear until it goes grey before you replace it. Ann Summers and Knickerbox stores around the country had a record Christmas period with millions of pounds been spent on something more saucy than white cotton. Big sellers this festive season included The Little Book of Sex, sexy underwear and novelty pouches including men's briefs with a stallion, sheep or pig on them which make a noise when the nose is squeezed. The British may have been a prudish race in the past but we have obviously come to our senses and are rushing to spice up life between the sheets. And it's not just about your love life - wearing nice underwear can put a smile on your face even if you're the only one who knows about it. Around 70 per cent of Ann Summers' customers are female and there are plans to open more shops around the world to let more women revitalise their underwear drawers.

TEENAGE BLUES: What a difference a year makes. For years Chelsea Clinton was given an unnecessarily hard-time for looking like most geeky teenagers. But now the puppy fat has gone, the shaggy perm has been lost and the brace has come off her teeth. Chelsea appeared at the Versace show in Parish with her new look and turned more heads than the models.

Now 21 years old, Chelsea is looking more and more like her mother, who also underwent a radical transformation when her husband got into the White House. Chelsea was accompanied at the fashion show by Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow and she looked as much a star as they did. It's amazing what a decent hair-cut and a bit of patience can do for a girl - a real tonic for all those teenagers out there going through those all-too-common growing pains.

BAD IMAGE: Good on Posh Spice for admitting that her image is excruciating and annoying to most of the real world. In a radio interview, Victoria Beckham said she wanted to be known as a singer who is married to a footballer and nothing else. She claimed that she hates the image she had been given as a fashion victim and the interest everyone pays in her clothes, hair and house. It is true that Posh and Becks have never asked for so much to be written about their lifestyle and that the world has become obsessed with them. When it comes down to it they are a young married couple with pots of cash so why shouldn't they splash out on designer gear and live in a mansion? Those who think the singer is irritating are maybe just a tiny bit jealous that a woman with very little talent is doing so well for herself.

What's not...

MOTHER LOVE: When will Page Three girl Jordan learn to keep her mouth shut? The inflated 23-year-old has been posing for more sexy shots and shooting off her mouth - despite being heavily pregnant. In yet another article in a men's magazine, Jordan claims that motherhood won't change her or her career. In the interview Jordan said she wanted to be thought of as 'horny and dirty' after the birth. No-one thinks new mums can't be sexy but once her little one is born Jordan is going to have to think of someone other than herself. She may not lose her looks and figure but motherhood should make her lose her attitude. If she carries on like she is, Jordan's baby will die of embarrassment the minute it comes into the world.

BAGGY TROUSERS: It seems ice skating has become too raunchy for the fuddy-duddies in charge of the sport. They have complained that the young dancers are showing off too much flesh in skimpy costumes and wearing tiny knickers that reveal crotch shots every time they do a move. The truth is you can't do many dance moves trussed up in costumes that cover every inch of your body. There are no calls for athletes to cover up before they run down the track so why should skaters wear more? The problem isn't with the skaters but those who think that a flash of pants is so scandalous that dress codes need to be introduced into a world class sport.

YAWNING TELEVISION: The BBC should give up trying to make watchable Saturday morning TV. Despite numerous attempts the channel has failed to live up to its past glory of Live and Kicking. Although Ant and Dec have left ITV's offering, SMTV, it has still managed to beat the BBC in the ratings. The latest Beeb offering is The Saturday Show presented by the very attractive Dani Behr. Dani is famous for presenting the late night show The Word, which was as far removed from children's TV as you could get. But the BBC obviously thought having a sexy female presenter would be enough to win the ratings war. Latest figures show just 600,000 viewers for The Saturday Show while SMTV pulls in 1.5 million despite losing its top presenters. It seems there is nothing the BBC can do and it might have to just wait until SMTV falls off its perch before even trying to win the ratings war.
