ORGANISERS of a country shoot have been warned by the police after a duck, hit by marksmen, smashed into the window of a child's bedroom.
The bird was travelling fast enough to smash the pane on impact, leaving blood smeared on the glass.
Owners of the house at Stanwick St John, near Richmond, North Yorkshire, said their children were very upset by the incident at the weekend. They complained to the landowners and the police.
Officers said they have since spoken to the organisers and the marksmen, warning them of the dangers of shooting so close to homes and across neighbouring properties.
No further action has been taken
