DOCTORS were last night fighting to save the sight of an attack victim.
The unnamed 58-year-old was attacked at the junction of White House Farm and Barlborough Road, Stockton, after shopping in the town's Safeway store, at 9.25pm on Friday.
A man got out of a blue Vauxhall Calibra and seriously assaulted the pedestrian, then drove off.
The victim, who suffered a broken cheekbone, and serious injuries to his left eye, has undergone an operation at a specialist eye unit in Middlesbrough to save his sight.
