COUNTY Champions Yorkshire are all set to become the technological whizkids of the first class cricket circuit.
The club has joined forces with Firstnet Services Ltd, an award winning Internet and technology solutions provider, and work is under way to develop a website that will allow users to buy tickets and merchandise on line, view photographs and biographical information from library archives and get news about their favourite players.
Once it goes live there will be opportunities for supporters worldwide to listen to commentaries, see wickets fall and play back highlights.
Tony Panaro, Yorkshire's commercial director, said: "We are very excited to be making this association with Firstnet. It is in keeping with our tradition of dealing with Yorkshire companies and will put Yorkshire CCC on top as far as technology goes, complementing their on-field position."
Byan Cobley, development director and co-founder of Firstnet said: "As a Yorkshire company ourselves, we are proud to be able to bring to YCCC innovative solutions, products and services which will keep the club - and cricket enthusiasts everywhere - ahead of the game."
