FITNESS fans are taking an ambitious approach to fighting the flab - by going global.
Their Pickering gym has set up a mammoth round-the-world fitness challenge for them to complete without even setting foot out the door.
The idea is to clock up the miles while doing their stepping, walking, rowing, cycling or other exercise at the gym, Fitness 2000.
Owner Colin Harrogate said: "All the distances from all the members participating will be totalled up so we can work our way around the globe."
The four-month challenge is being held to raise cash for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, St Catherine's Hospice, Round Table Children's Wish and the British Heart Foundation
