Police are investigating the sudden death of a North-East man.
It is thought Walter Bell, 55, of Easington Lane, Gateshead, died as a result of injuries sustained after being hit by a motorbike near his home. Mr Bell, who died on Saturday, did not seek medical help or contact police after the incident. A post-mortem examination revealed he had internal injuries. Police were interviewing a man yesterday but were appealing for details. Detective Inspector Jim Napier said it was too early to say whether prosecution would follow.
