Richmond could soon have a town centre manager to take forward projects drawn up by the town centre forum.

Councillor John Harris told Richmondshire district council resources committee that the forum was disappointed when a candidate offered the job turned it down.

However, the post had been re-advertised and Coun Harris was optimistic that it would be filled in the near future.

He outlined work which the forum hoped to go ahead with in the coming year.

It included a survey of the town centre, which would be used to support grant bids.

There were also plans to replace the information boards near Trinity tower and in Nun's Close car park
