Tarbolton Moss, who looked to have just come to herself when an easy winner at Newcastle last time, can follow up in the Brandling House Handicap hurdle over two and a half miles at the same course this afternoon.

Martin Todhunter's mare was value for a fair bit more than the official six-length winning margin over Spoof over three miles at this course last time, so a 5lb rise for that win looks very fair.

Although back in trip, there are plenty of front-runners in the line-up so this should be a sufficient test of stamina for her.

Given that she travelled supremely well for much of the way, there are good reasons for thinking that she should be equally as effective over this trip.

Todhunter's newcomer All Sonsilver is best watched, though, in the Scotchhills Holsteins Maiden Hurdle - a race that could go to Tim Easterby's Colonial Sunrise.

The five-year-old ran his best race on his racecourse debut in a Wetherby bumper in February and that form has worked out tremendously well.

He hasn't reached that level since then, but there was plenty to like about his last run and, although off the course since, he should go well in a race of this nature for his hurdles debut.

Easterby can also be on the mark with Skillwise in the Scotchhills Holsteins Handicap Chase over three miles.

His last outing on heavy ground can be discounted as he's never shone when the conditions have been very testing, and his previous efforts this season give him a good chance against rivals who all can be taken on for one reason or another.

Len Lungo can also be a trainer in double form and his Sumthyne Special and Westmorland look to hold sound claims in the St Mowden Properties Handicap Hurdle and the Border Minstrel Selling Handicap Hurdle respectively.

Sumthyne Special has done nothing wrong so far this winter over this trip and he ran right up to his best in defeat behind the progressive Moss Harvey over this course and distance last time.

Westmorland's chance is less obvious in the selling handicap.

But this represents by far and away his easiest task to date and it will be a bit of a surprise if he can't figure here from his handicap mark of 70.

At Wolverhampton Rae Guest, who has been on the mark twice recently, can be back in the winners' enclosure with Lady Birgitta in the competitive looking Littlewoods Bet Direct Handicap over a mile.

This lightly-raced sort has run well on her only outing at this course and she looked as though the drop back to this trip would suit when failing to stay a mile and a quarter at Lingfield last time.

Rimatara, who signalled a return to form at the Midlands course last Friday, can take advantage of a lenient mark in division two of the seven-furlong handicap.

Mick Easterby's runner is best when allowed to force the pace and he's interesting now his usual visor has been swapped for first-time blinkers.
