A PARENTS' and carers' guide to keeping youngsters happy is now available.
Heather Alabaster and Susie Macdonald, from Durham City, have produced the first Clever Clogs Guide to Wear Valley for Under Fives, after being commissioned by Durham County Council.
With hints on everything from sleep problems to days out, and health issues to horse riding, it is available from health visitors, Sure Start workers, libraries and toddler groups.
Ms Alabaster said: "If you live in Weardale, it can be difficult finding out what activities and entertainments are around for young children.
"We hope parents will find this guide useful, comprehensive and easy to use."
Ms Macdonald said: "We worked closely with local organisations and groups to produce what should be an excellent guide."
Ms Alabaster started the Clever Clogs series five years ago and has published guides for Durham, Easington, Darlington, Sedgefield and Hartlepool.
