Durham assistant manager Derek Bell is confident that City's defence won't be making the same mistakes again after they drew 3-3 at Billingham Synthonia on Saturday.

City manager Brian Honour missed the game to spy on FA Vase opponents Wroxham, and Bell said; "We were in the lead three times, but on every occasion we gave it away.

"It's a little bit worrying, but the Vase game this week will be completely different, The players will make sure that they are up for it."

City took the lead after 25 minutes when Lee Ludlow was brought down inside the area, and he scored his 36th goal of the season from the penalty spot.

But Synners levelled when a long free kick was missed by the Durham defence, and Andy Harbron beat Marc Riches.

City regained the lead when Gavin Mudd flicked on a Stuart Irvine cross for Stuart Brightwell to score, but Synners levelled again when Andy Ripley headed against the bar, and Chris Fawcett scored from the rebound.

City took the lead for the third time when Synners keeper John Mohun fumbled an Irvine free-kick, and Ludlow pounced on the loose ball, but Durham defender Gary Bennett gave Synners a point when he put through his own goal.

West Auckland striker Roy Allen ignored a hamstring injury to score a hat-trick in their 5-0 home win over Seaham Red Star, to take his goals tally in the last fortnight to 13 in three matches.

Allen, who is being tracked by several league clubs, opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 31 minutes after he was fouled by Paul Moss, and two minutes later he broke clear and had a shot blocked, but Jonathan Milroy scored from the rebound.

Paul Stout made it 3-0 early in the second half with a low shot into the bottom corner of the net, then Allen dribbled past two players to grab the fourth after 63 minutes.

And he completed his hat-trick in the last minute when Ray Stanger's shot was blocked, and he scored from the rebound.

West are now in clear second place, five points ahead of Whitley Bay, but eight behind leaders Bedlington.

The champions maintained their six month long unbeaten record in the league with a 3-1 home win over Guisborough.

After having the edge in the first half, they took the lead after 50 minutes when Robbie Cockburn scored with a left foot shot from a pass by Tony Chapman.

But Guisborough quickly levelled, when Jamie Clarke scored with a left foot shot from twenty yards.

However, Bedlington striker John Milner restored their lead with a header from Cockburn's cross, and late in the game Chapman cracked in the third.

Marske United are still in the top six after they beat Morpeth 2-1 at Mount Pleasant.

Darren Sankey put Marske into the lead with an overhead kick, then Ben Thompson headed the second from a free kick.

Morpeth pulled a goal back from a deflected free kick by Stuart Douglas.

Morpeth are still fourth off bottom, level on points with Thornaby but with a better goal difference.

Peterlee put their midweek League Cup disappointment behind them to defeat Brandon 1-0.

Peterlee hit the woodwork through Stuart Jewson early in the game, while Lee Fitzgerald also went close. Brandon came more into the game and Steve Huggins missed a great opportunity midway through the second half.

But Peterlee grabbed the points when Lee Crosby raced clear and fired home.

In the second division, Esh Winning moved closer to the two leaders with a 2-0 win at bottom club Shotton.

Richard Garrett put through his own goal to give Esh the lead, and with ten minutes left, Kenny Davies added the second.

Troubled Murton lost 6-1 at home to Norton, after being at 1-1 early in the second half.

Eddie Hebron scored a hat-trick for Norton, with Robbie Bell (2) and Anthony Roberts getting the other goals. Jamie Owens scored Murton's goal.

Only seven games went ahead on Saturday, with the rest of the programme wiped out because of bad weather, and some clubs are now hoping that the league will be extended into May
