AN all-day, on-air charity auction is being held by North-East radio station TFM tomorrow.

Items on offer include an all-inclusive Cari-bbean holiday for two and the chance to be a football reporter for the day with The Northern Echo.

Pop trio Atomic Kitten are supporting the charity by visiting the studios and auctioning items from their own show on TFM.

Listeners are being invited to phone in their bids, to raise money for TFM's charity Make a Child Smile, which helps local children.

Pop diva Sophie Ellis Bextor, and Darlington's Zoe Birkett, of Pop Idol, have sent messages of support.

Other auction lots available for football enthusiasts include a day's training with Darlington FC first team squad, and the chance to dress up as Hartlepool mascot H'Angus Monkey during a match.

Listeners can bid for the Middlesbrough v Liverpool match with executive seats, or for top local chef Eugene McCoy to cook a dinner party at one bidder's home.

Van Morrison, who plays in Middlesbrough on Friday, has donated front row tickets to his concert, plus a chauffeur-driven limo to get there.

Other items include flying lessons at Teesside Airport, the opportunity to be mayor of Stockton for a day - and the chance to lock up your mother-in-law in police cells.

The auction will run from 8am until 6pm on both TFM and Magic 1170. Anyone wanting to place a bid should call (01642) 352680 tomorrow.
