A GROUP of young dancers were put through their paces by a choreographer in readiness for a public performance at the weekend.
Members of Middlesbrough Youth Dance Group teamed up with dancers from the Linx Youth Dance Group to work with Peter Huggins, choreographer with the National Youth Dance Company (NYDC).
The youngsters spent a day with Peter and Geoff Hobson of Tees Dance initiative to devise and rehearse an original dance piece which they performed alongside dancers from the NYDC at Sunday night's performance at Middlesbrough Theatre.
Jenny Hall, from Middlesbrough Council's Arts Development Team, said: "This was a brilliant opportunity for these young dancers to work with the very best.
"I am sure it encouraged and inspired many young dancers in the audience last night."
