FA Vase preview : Durham City manager Brian Honour believes that his players will be "fully charged" as they try to salvage their FA Carlsberg Vase final dreams today.
City go into their all-Northern League semi-final second leg against Whitley Bay trailing 2-1 after the first leg, and Honour admits that his side were lucky to escape last week with just a one-goal deficit.
"We know that we have to play a lot better, therefore we must all make sure that we are fully charged for the game," he said.
"We will be a lot more positive. Last week, some of our players were frightened to death and they completely froze - there were a few white faces in the changing room afterwards.
"We must make sure that we are in the right frame of mind. If we score the first goal, then it will be interesting to see what happens."
Honour will have virtually a full squad to choose from, after several players shook off niggling injuries in midweek. Whitley manager Andy Gowens will probably choose from an unchanged squad, but he isn't getting carried away by last week's victory.
"We have to go and win again. There's no question of us sitting back and trying to hold on to a one goal lead - we'll be going all out.
"If Durham get an early goal, then the game will be very interesting, if we get one, maybe their heads might drop.
"The disappointing thing from our point of view last week was that we didn't give ourselves more than a one-goal lead when we had the chances."
If the scores are level on aggregate at the end of extra time, then penalties will decide who goes through to Villa Park.
* Bishop Auckland kept their grip on the Durham Challenge Cup thanks to a second half goal from Andy Shaw at New Ferens Park yesterday.
Shaw had only been on the field for a few minutes when he turned in a right-wing cross from Steve Hutt. The goal was one of the few highlights in a dull game, which looked set for extra-time.
Bishops striker Michael Quinn fired over from an acute angle early on, and Steve Hutt had a goal disallowed for a foul on Darren Collier after 25 minutes. Stuart Jackson headed wide at the other end, and approaching half-time Bishops striker Carl Chillingsworth was off target twice.
Town increased the tempo after the break, but never seriously troubled David Campbell in the Bishops goal.
After Shaw broke through, Tony Nelson missed a good chance for the second, and near the end Steve Osborne blazed over from a few yards for Town.
