DEVOTED monarchist Anita Atkinson has vowed to camp outside Westminster Abbey in a bid to catch a final glimpse of her beloved Queen Mother.

Mrs Atkinson, from Harperley, Crook, County Durham, is to travel to London on Sunday night.

The magistrate hopes to pay her final respects to the Queen Mother as she lies in state, before claiming her place in front of Westminster Abbey on Monday evening.

She said: "This is an important part of history. So I will be there with my Union Jack deck chair and a sleeping bag. This is something I have to do. I need to be there."

Mrs Atkinson's love of the monarchy has gained her a place in the Guiness Book of Records for having the biggest collection of royal souvenirs in the world.
