A group of youngsters began a massive spring clean of their area, in Middlesbrough, yesterday.
Children from primary schools in North Ormesby donned rubber gloves and helped with a litter pick.
The event was organised jointly by Holy Trinity Anti-Crime project and Middlesbrough Council's environmental enforcement team, in an attempt to clean up the streets and tackle the problem of rubbish dumping.
Councillor Kath Bevington said: "By involving children, we hope to encourage the younger members of the community to keep our streets cleaner in future.
