THE winner of a theatre and football club's joint competition was presented with his prize yesterday.
Sunderland supporter Mike Wilson entered the competition run by the Sunderland Empire Theatre and Sunderland Football Club on the club's website.
His prize, a visit to the theatre for four to watch the ballet Romeo and Juliet, was among several offered in the promotion, including tickets to the forthcoming Sunderland v Liverpool match and signed football shirts.
Mr Wilson was presented with the tickets by Rachel Hesten, first artist with Birmingham Royal Ballet.
During its latest visit to Sunderland the company will run fun days and educational activities, including a free talk and a face-painting session in the theatre's dress circle, from noon today.
