A conman who is making people exchange their three- piece suites is still operating in east Cleveland.
Two weeks ago, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's trading standards department highlighted the con, in which people are offered a new three piece suite in exchange for their old one.
But the new suite is simply another suite from someone taken in by the scam and passed on.
The caller has targeted homes in Redcar, Marske and Guisborough and the department has been told that he has been spotted in Lingdale.
Michelle O'Rourke, from the trading standards department, said: "The police are aware of this type of scam now and, as far as I am aware, no one has been caught out since, but people should still keep their eyes open."
