KEVIN McCallum, the former Darlington Mowden Park full back now with Consett, has been drafted into the Durham County team for today's match against Middlesex at the Old Merchant Taylors' ground.

He replaces Darlington skipper David Glendenning, who is working, while West Hartlepool's Gareth Kerr comes on to the bench, along with Horden back row man John Paul and Hartlepool's Gareth Foreman, who replaces his brother Andy.

The clash with the charity match at Stockton has caused some confusion, although Mowden fly half Kevan Oliphant always made it clear that other commitments would force him to put the Stockton game first.

He is to captain the Teesside Barbarians line-up, which includes several of his former West Hartlepool teammates such as John Dixon and Shaun Cassidy, plus his current Mowden colleagues Mark Bedworth and Tony Irwin.

Darlington centre Simon White was in the Barbarians' squad, but has now been named on the bench by the county.

Stockton skipper Alan Brown has returned from holiday to play in the match, which kicks off at 3pm and has been organised to raise money for Lenny Kirk, who needs £20,000 for cancer treatment in the United States.

* Inga Tuigamala will bid farewell to the Newcastle Falcons tomorrow when they visit Northampton for their final game in the Zurich Premiership.

A world-record signing five years ago, Tuigamala is returning home next week to coach the Samoan squad, although division one club Coventry are trying to entice him with the offer of a one-year contract.

After an emotional farewell to Kingston Park in Wednesday night's win against London Irish, Tuigamala said: "I've had five good years and I'll take away some great memories. It has been a privilege and an honour to play alongside people like Jonny Wilkinson and Rob Andrew.

"I'm leaving the club without any fears. It is in good hands."

Fifth-placed Falcons are three points ahead of Northampton, who thrashed them at Franklin's Gardens in the Powergen Cup semi-final.

A repeat would hand the Saints a five-point maximum and leave Newcastle in sixth place, which is not certain to be good enough for Heineken European Cup qualification. They would then have to depend on seventh-placed Wasps not sneaking in via the Premiership play-offs.
