AN airline is offering flights for £10 from Teesside to Dublin. Ryanair is announcing today the introduction of extra weekend flights between Teesside International Airport and Dublin, in addition to its daily service.

The evening flights will operate on Fridays, Sundays and Mondays. To celebrate the new schedule, the airline is offering one-way fares for £10, including airport taxes, for travel on selected flights from June 7 until July 31. Tickets can be booked online at www.ryanair.com from today until midnight on Monday.

TRUST SPONSORSHIP: The North of England Cadet Force Trust is looking for sponsors to help it continue its work. The trust, made up of the Sea Cadet Corps, the Army Cadet Force and the Air Training Corps, is open girls and boys in the region. The Ministry of Defence has provided some funding and Darlington Borough Council has agreed to pay £200 to help buy outdoor equipment for the group, based in Neasham Road. The trust hopes to raise £500,000 to go towards running costs.

STEPPING OUT: Pensioners are being offered reduced prices for North-East attractions and on Arriva trains as part of a nationwide event next month. TRAGIC DRIVER: A taxi driver who died when his car hit a wall at the BUPA Belvedere Hospital on South Cliff, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, had suffered a heart attack. A spokeswoman for the area's coroner, Michael Oakley, said John Hemingway, 59, of Oak Road, Scarborough, had been alone when the accident happened.

SCHOOL LINK: An actor and storyteller from the region will be sharing his talents with schoolchildren. Robin Ellwood, of Darlington, has joined the National Big Arts Week, which aims to match professional artists with schools which can gain from their skills.
