A NEW branded water produced at a purpose-built £3m bottling plant is set to take centre stage in a museum.

Harrogate Spa Water, produced at the company's plant in Harlow Moor Road, will be put on permanent display at the Royal Pump Room Museum.

Some of the exhibits of water date back to the 19th Century, with historic records suggesting that bottled spa water from the town may have been available since the early 1600s.

Harrogate Spa Water is being revived after an absence of 30 years, and is being delivered to major hotels and restaurants in the Harrogate area.

And by the summer the company expects to have its products on sale at kiosks located at major tourist attractions in London.

Ian Bray, chief executive of Harrogate Spa Water, said: "We are receiving many expressions of interest in our products, not only from hotels and restaurants, but also from national supermarket chains and major wholesalers.
