SATURDAY : HEIGHINGTON: Street parties on West and East Green from 8-11.30pm. On Monday, the event will be opened at 12.30pm by Mayor of Darlington Doris Jones and 99-year-old Fred Pallister, the oldest man in the village.

Attractions include a hog roast, a band from Haughton School and It's A Knockout. The event will end at about 5.45pm.

FERRYHILL: The Manor House pub is holding four days of entertainment, from today, including a barbecue, brass band, and a clown, plus a bungee jump on Monday from noon to 4pm.

DELVES LANE: The Delves Lane Community Association, Consett, holds a parade and street party from 11am.

MEDOMSLEY: A jubilee party will be held on Medomsley School Field, Consett, from 2pm.

NEWCASTLE: Parade with the Lord Mayor and Royal Marines Band from 11am in the city centre. A military tattoo will be held at Exhibition Park at 7pm.

LANCHESTER: The jubilee carnival parade starts at Kitswell Road, on the playing fields, in the early afternoon and progresses round Front Street.

TOMORROW

CROOK: Belle Vue Club, in Commercial Street, holds a family fun day from 1pm to 5pm. A Good Old Days singalong with Les Lee starts at 7pm on Monday when there is a pie and pea supper.

Harrogate: St Peter's Church will hold a service at 11am, followed by a town centre street party.

Bedale: A Songs of Praise event is being held in the park at 4pm, organised by the town's churches and local children will help to lead the singing.
