MOVIE NIGHT: The Chester-le-Street Volunteer Bureau is holding a Thank You Night at the Movies evening for volunteers at 7.30pm next Friday, in Ouston Community Centre.
People are asked to dress as their favourite film stars or as though they were attending the Oscars ceremony.
GOLF DAY: The Wheatsheaf 2000 Golf Society will play at Matfen Hall Golf Club on Saturday, June 14.
FITNESS COURSE: A six-week beginners course in Pilates begins next Thursday at Chester-le-Street Community Centre. The course costs £16 and classes run from 10.30am to 11.30am. For details call 0191-388 4752.
TOP SCORERS: Birtley Football Club won the League Challenge Cup and the Monkwearmouth Cup, but they lost the Shipowner's Cup on penalties.
DONOR SESSIONS: There will be blood donor sessions at the Red Lion, Chester-le-Street, on Monday, from 2.30pm to 7pm, and in Stanley Community Centre, Tyne Road, on Monday, June 17, from 2pm to 7pm.
ACOUSTIC MUSIC: Johnny D will entertain Beamish Mary Acoustic Club in No Place at 8.30pm on Wednesday. Admission is £3.
