CHANGES to the position of taxi ranks in Spennymoor are being considered.
A report to Sedgefield Borough Council's cabinet this week proposed two new taxi rank bays to be established in Holborn Street, opposite the Co-op car park.
New ranks are also planned for Church Street, opposite the Aldi supermarket, and at Cheapside, outside the Top Ten Bingo Club.
A rank at Cheapside, opposite the Penny Gill pub, is to be removed.
The proposals have been made as a result of representations received from Spennymoor Town Centre Forum and Durham Police.
The public will have 28 days to object to the proposals after they have been published in the local Press
