DARLINGTON branch of Victim Support is appealing for swimmers to take part in a 12-hour swimathon later this month, with proceeds helping the service's new scheme to aid witnesses.
The event takes place on Friday, July 19, at the Dolphin Centre.
Clare Hodgson, Victim Support's witness service co-ordinator, said: "We have got quite a lot of swimmers, but we are doing it for 12 hours, from 8am to 8pm, so we need some more."
If it proves successful this year, the charity is hoping to make the sponsored swim an annual event.
Anyone who would like to support the event, either as a swimmer or sponsor, is asked to contact Clare on (01325) 487108.
