A POPULAR playgroup will mark the end of an era this month as it prepares to move out of its home.
Romanby pre-school had been based at St James's Church Hall, in the village near Northallerton, for 35 years, but had to leave when the proposed sale of the building was announced.
The group has been offered alternative accommodation by both Sacred Heart Roman Catholic primary school and Romanby school.
To commemorate the move, a disco and buffet will be held at Romanby Golf Club on Thursday, July 18, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10.
An "open house" event will take place in the church hall the following day, from 11.30am to 4pm, and organisers are keen to see anyone who has previously been involved with the group.
