TELEVISION agony aunt Denise Robertson is aiming to solve a few problems by making people laugh with her first musical, Fine! Fine! Fine!

The show premieres at the Customs House, South Shields, on Thursday, August 1, and runs until Saturday, August 17.

It features the story of a single mother, a deserted wife and an older woman.

Denise, who offers advice to viewers on the This Morning programme, has adapted the musical from her best-selling book, Anxious Heart.

She has also personally replied to more than 4,000 messages sent to her website - DearDenise.com - since its launch last November.

The County Durham author said: "Fine! Fine! Fine! is a story about the determination of North-East people, women in particular, but, above all, it is about hope and people striving for a better future."

Tickets, which range from £7 to £14 (£12 concessions), can be obtained from the Customs House box office on 0191-454 1234.
