DRIVERS of 4x4 pick-ups can go for the soft touch thanks to a Darlington based truck dealer.
Links Motors in Morton Park Way now exclusively offers the US Bedrug Bedliner designed to protect the vehicle and its cargo.
Managing director Nick Todd, 29, said: "This is a high technology material which is really popular in the United States.
"It makes the whole tray soft and even, which makes it much more user friendly."
Bedrug was designed for people who carry delicate cargoes such as machinery or materials in their pick-up truck.
Impervious to petrol, oil, bleach and even battery acid, it can be cleaned with water or compressed air as it does not absorb liquid.
The material can be put to other, less routine uses as well.
Mr Todd said: "This is great for general users as well. It gives a soft ride for anyone who takes dogs or animals in their vehicle, giving them lots of grip."
