BURSTS of heavy rain failed to put the dampeners on a sports day attended by students from across Darlington last week.
The Darlington Secondary Schools' Town Sports competition was held at the town's Eastbourne Sports Complex on Tuesday, with youngsters competing in track and field events.
The team from Carmel RC Technology College swept the board, winning the overall competition for the eleventh consecutive time, as well as coming top in the girls' and boys' contest.
Longfield School came second in all three contests, with Hummersknott School taking all three third places.
