HARTLEPOOL United's second-string last night emulated their teammates by thumping 12 unanswered goals past Dutch opposition.

Just 24 hours after Pool opened their pre-season tour of Holland with a 12-0 win over Theole, Chris Turner's side followed suit by beating SV Nootdorp by the same scoreline.

Tuesday's team was Pool's first XI; last night, only Mark Robinson stayed in the starting line-up, but they still had too much for their part-time hosts.

Jermaine Easter led the way by netting six - one more than Gordon Watson managed the previous night and Turner said: "At this stage of the summer these sort of games are ideal for us, because we want to play teams who aren't too aggressive against us."

Early on, SV Nootdorp - a division above Theole - looked a more competent outfit than the previous night's opponents. While they never troubled Pool keeper Jim Provett before the break, they certainly looked up for the encounter. However, as the goals came, their heads were down and at the end it was nothing more than a kick-around for Pool.

Pool were in front after ten minutes. Adam Boyd's effort was blocked and strike partner Easter tapped in.

Boyd created Pool's second two minutes before the break, teeing up Paul Arnison and when his effort was blocked, Easter was again on hand.

Robinson shot low from 20 yards for number three, before Easter completed his hat-trick on 52 minutes.

Gordon Simms netted a rare goal on 56 minutes and then three more from Easter, two from Boyd, an Arnison volley and Jon Bass completed the rout and the Dutch tour.

Pool: Provett; Robinson (Barron 62), Sharp, Simms, Arnison; Sweeney, Ross, Stephenson, Bass; Easter, Boyd.
