Loftus are still out in front of division one following their six wicket victory at home to third from top Dormans.

When they batted first Dormans made a useful 160 all out which included 64 by Dale and 40 from Taylor while for Loftus Morrison was in good form with the ball, returning six for 71.

Smithies and Barritt each took two wickets.

When they replied the first three Loftus batsmen made only 18 runs between them before Dixon (72) and Barritt with an unbeaten 48, put together a big partnership for the fourth wicket which eventually led to their side's six wickets success.

Hinderwell are second from top and they saw off the challenge from Ormesby Hall for 37 runs. Hinderwell totalled 118 all out of which Jackson contributed an unbeaten 52 and for Ormesby Hall Davies had three for 34 and Peacock three for 37.

When they went into bat Ormesby Hall found Swain in top form with the ball for Hinderwell and when he captured seven wickets for just 22 runs the innings closed on 81. Powell claimed a couple of wickets for 17 runs.

Staithes hosted Greatham Paragonians and won by 82 runs.

In 37 overs Staithes totalled 192 for six declared and most of the runs came from Richard Horn who had one six and eight boundaries in 67.

He shared a first wicket partnership of 90 with Mark Allen who recorded seven fours in 41 and later Richard Ward carried his bat for 48 finding the boundary line on eight occasions.

When they responded Greatham Paragonians were all out in 36 overs for 110 which included 38 by Rhoden with one six and four fours. Allen captured three wickets for 44 runs in 12 overs and Ward three for 14 in his six overs spell for Staithes.

Normanby Parklands defeated Skelton Castle by 27 runs at the end of a high scoring match.

Ayub finished unbeaten on 101 and Ramzan carried his bat for 66 when Normanby Parklands realised 204 for two before declaring.

Skelton Castle made a bold bid to reach the formidable target and opener Manns scored 38.

There were other useful contributions, but the highest contributor to the Skelton Castle total of 177 was extras on 42. Hussain claimed four wickets for 28 runs and both Shoaib and Ayub took two wickets.

Jack Hatfields ended on 201 for six mainly as a result of the efforts of Hadfield with 69, Pearce (42) and Homan who carried his bat for 34. Richardson captured three of the six wickets to fall for 69 runs and Oakley returned two for 28.

When they went into bat Boosbeck were all out for 147 which included 23 by Richardson, 25 from Ward and 28 by Lorraines.

Hadfield followed up his good work with the bat by taking three wickets for 33 runs and Mustafer claimed four wickets for 44 runs.

Norton managed only 77 all out in their game with The Merlin. Moss claimed six wickets for only 30 runs and Burdon four for 29 in the Merlin attack and when they batted first the home side posted 191 for four before declaring.

Openers Kirby with 32 and Pacitto (45) gave the side a good send off and afterwards Sutherland contributed 26 and Burdon 20 before Butterworth carried his bat for 21.

Brotton are the leaders of division two and have now won nine of the ten games they have played.

They restricted Dormanstown to 122 when M Broughton took four for 28, Yeoman two for 39 and N Broughton three for 21.

Lloyd, who opened the innings, top scored with 50 for Dormanstown.

When Brotton replied they lost three wickets as opening batsman Ridley battled throughout for an unbeaten 52 and N Broughton added 41.

Blacksmiths Arms managed 113 which included 34 by opener Barker but lost by one wicket at New Marske for whom Payne claimed four for 21 and Magor three for 27.

When they occupied the crease New Marske also found run making difficult but edged home when Burns finished undefeated on 39.

Barker (5-38) and Prosser (3-41) almost snatched victory for Blacksmiths Arms.

Moorsholm suffered their sixth defeat when they went down by four wickets to Cowpen Bewley. Keith Harding opened the Moorsholm innings scoring 22 and Lowe added 41 to the total of 125 for nine as Smith captured four for 20 and Manners four for 29.

When they went into bat Cowpen Bewley were indebted to Manners for his top scoring 65 which together with 24 by Lonsdale earned the visitors a four wickets success even though Ward had three for 35 and Hucker two for 45 in the Moorsholm bowling lineup.

Normanby Parklands ended 82 runs ahead of Skelton Castle after reaching 177 for eight which included 92 by Flynn and 34 by Scrafton.

McCabe with three for 92 had a lengthy spell in the Skelton attack in which Gratten and Hill claimed two wickets apiece.

Replying Skelton Castle could manage only 95 which included 24 by Stockhill and 31 from Tate. Fox had a good day with the ball for Normanby Parklands finished with six for 47 and McGough returned three for 15.
