Kirby Sigston lead the table and they recorded their 11th victory in 12 outings defeating Crathorne by five wickets.

The game was a personal triumph for Kevin Clarkson, who in 13.1 overs including eight maidens, returned the magnificent figures of eight wickets for nine runs. Robin Cowton took the other two wickets for 38 in 13 overs and Crathorne were back in the pavilion after 26.1 overs with 47 runs on the board.

Kirby Sigston though conceded five wickets before reaching their target in 20.1 overs. Howard Leng claimed three for 22 in 10.1 overs and Mick Blench two for 21 from the ten overs he sent down.

Stafford Place are second following their 65 runs success at home to Swainby. Batting first Stafford Place posted 135 for nine from their 40 overs with Mally Graves (29) and Chris Atkinson with 24 not out both in form with the bat.

Alan Clemmitt returned six for 56 from 20 overs, eight of them maidens and James Dennis three for 71 also in an unbroken 20 overs spell.

Replying Swainby were dismissed for 70 as Graves claimed three wickets for 36 runs in 14 overs and Brent Smith captured five wickets for ten runs from 7.4 overs.

Hutton Rudby had the better of Chopgate finishing 37 runs in front. When Hutton Rudby made first use of the wicket they totalled 104 all out in 35 overs as Neil Stockton caused the visiting batsmen problems by taking six wickets for 46 runs.

Chopgate's reply lasted 33 overs but a total of only 67 was realised as Ian Reid returned the outstanding figures of seven for 16 in 8.3 overs.

An unbeaten century by opening batsman Barker was the feature of Scruton's 158 for four in their home game with Thimbleby. Responding Thimbleby ended with 195 for nine which included 40 from Garbutt. Barritt with four for 57 and Greensit whose three wickets were taken at a cost of 24 runs, both struck form with the ball for Scruton.

Ingleby Greenhow are still adrift at the bottom of the table having won once in 12 outings. Their latest defeat was at the hands of East Harlsey who won by ten wickets after bowling out Ingleby Greenhow for only 49.

Grainge (4-10) and Mould (4-22) were the bowlers responsible for the home side's low total. When they replied East Harlsey romped home and opening batsman Mason carried his bat for 40 out of a total of 51 for none. His partner Broadley scored just three not out.

Kildale had only three runs to spare winning at Maltby.

Batting first Kildale posted 97 all out with Sunley making 30 and for Maltby Close had the best figures of four for 22. He was ably assisted in the attack by Stringer, Barber and Baines who all took a couple of wickets.

When they went into bat Maltby also found runs difficult to come by, but 29 by opener Close gave them a chance until the innings closed on 94. Dave Doughty had five wickets for 26 runs and Sunley took four for 34.

Foster's Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League Under-18s

The weather played havoc with the programme but Burnopfield managed to stage their game with Swalwell and were rewarded with a nine wickets victory.

Batting first, Burnopfield posted 92 for the loss of just one wicket as Paul Lumley hit one six and eight boundaries in an unbeaten 46 compiled from only 27 deliveries. Ryan McVittie gave excellent support and his 30 not out included a couple of sixes and two fours. He received 19 balls.

Swalwell managed just 72 for eight with Mark Grey their top scorer with 30 while in the Burnopfield attack Lee Stoneman had three for 18 in five overs and Richard Deacon two for nine from the three overs he bowled.

Federation Special Durham Senior League Under-13s

Chester's batsmen were again in top form at Marsden. Michael Eggleston top scored with 35 not out which included one six and four fours. Darren Redfearn scored 29(no) whilst Steven McTaggart , Andrew Bowren and Jack Taylor all scored 23 not out as Chester reached 201.

In reply an inexperienced Marsden side could only muster 41 which was due to tight bowling from all of the bowlers .

Anthony McMahon took 5 for 17 from his 3overs whilst Kieran Sowden playing his first league game of the season took 2 for 0 in his three overs.

Durham County Cricket Board Under-13 Preliminary Round

Chester-le-Street and Sacriston contested a tight game on Monday evening. Chester batted first and scored a healthy 123 for three Andrew Bowren 30 (no) and Michael Eggleston30 (no), R Hockaday took two for 20 in his four overs.

In reply, Sacriston were restricted to 76 all out, Michael Eggleston shining with figures of two for seven from his four overs.

Premier Sports Durham Cost League Under-15

The game between Houghton and Ryhope ended with the scored level. Kim Bowman carried his bat for 66 and Carl White contributed 25 when Houghton batted first and ended with 129 for four.

Clasper was in good form with the bat for Ryhope and he made 43 out of his team's total of 129 for seven.

The weather washed out the remainder of the programme.

Gavin Patterson Cup

Dawdon progressed to the next stage with an emphatic ten wickets victory Murton who they bowled out for just 52 as Karl Scott claimed four wickets for 11 runs.

In reply, Dawdon romped home as man of the match Scott carried his bat for 28. Dawdon meet Philadelphia in the next round of the cup.
