A TIME capsule was buried under a £2.6m sports complex yesterday.
Pupils past and present buried the capsule at the new Brierton School facility in Hartlepool.
The centre is due to open on August 12 and will provide facilities for the school and the wider community. Trampolining, badminton, basketball and netball will be among the sports on offer.
Karen Hyrons, centre manager, said: "All sorts of memorabilia have been placed in the time capsule, ranging from a diary to a Middlesbrough football shirt, worn by David Murphy, a former pupil, on his debut."
