YOUNG people have presented the findings of a year-long study into the issues that concern them.

Durham Youth Assembly, made up of secondary school students from all parts of the county, presented the findings yesterday, to North Durham MP Kevan Jones and Councillor Neil Foster, Durham County Council's cabinet member for education.

The assembly, funded by the county council and facilitated by Durham Children and Young People's Council, decided to look into areas including drugs education, sex education and the standard of personal, social and health education, last year.

Task groups were formed and findings prepared for the assembly's final meeting of the year, when the youngsters asked the county council and the Government to act on them.
